(Including the pendant brings final measurements to roughly 30" total.)
These Squash Blossoms are believed to date back to the year 1870 when the Navajo tribe made contact with the Spanish Mexicans. Within twenty years the art form had spread to neighboring tribes such as the Zuni and Pueblo tribes, and were commonly used as a talisman for protection. Tribe members would often affix it to their horses bridles to ward away the "Evil Eye", or it was worn simply to show status and your place in the tribe.
The ancient design of Squash Blossoms are charming even today. The intricate pieces of turquoise and unique craftsmanship presents you with a piece of timeless history for your collection.
