I believe the depth of my understanding and knowledge of the diamond and jewelry industry is quite vast. I have traveled and traded diamonds and jewelry for over 25 years at the wholesale and the retail levels. I have learned about every level of quality, designs and trends. I believe my experience and understanding of the industry will translate to better meeting our customer's wishes and needs. I believe in providing the best and largest possible diamonds and settings for one of the most competitive prices not only in the valley, but also on the internet. One of my favorite experiences is seeing the look on my clients face when I have exceeded their expectations. That happens whether they compare prices of our jewelry and diamonds in our cases, or if we order something from our tried and true connections, or we custom design it in house.
I started out in various different aspects of the jewelry industry over 25 years ago. I began this passion by taking the GIA (Gemological Institute of America, Inc.) diamond grading course at Carlsbad, CA at 21 years old. 31 years later I am so excited to have the jewelry store of my dreams.
I am also a professional Numismatist (rare coin expert or "nerd" depending on how you look at it!) I went to my first Coin Show at 16 years old. I am an expert in the rare coin field. In 1987-1990 I worked at PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Services) and then off and on in the 1990's as a consultant for NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Corp.). Both of these companies represent the highest standards for grading in the coin industry.
I believe that if much has been given, much is expected in return. Therefore, I have supported various different causes in our communities, like being on the BAA board for Boise State University from 1994-1999, and supporting a student endowment fund. We love supporting the Idaho Food Bank, The Festival of Trees, & various programs in the Meridian School District.
I am a Boise native and love all that Idaho offers. When I'm not spending time with Stacy, my wife of 30 years and our two children; I love to ski, boat, fish, hunt, and mountain bike.
I am so excited that jewelry store dream is coming true. I believe the great relationships that will grow from here will be my legacy to this valley and to my children.
After an eighteen year career as "Domestic Engineer" for our two children and household, I have returned to my first career love...retail!
I was fortunate that I could stay home with our two children Delaney and Jackson. It allowed me to be actively involved with their lives, their schooling, volunteering in the community and in schools. At the schools I loved being a Reading Specialist, an "Art Mom" and on every fund raising campaign and many PTO committees. One of my proudest accomplishments within the school system was successfully campaigning for an Arts Program at Seven Oaks Elementary School in Eagle, Idaho. I then went on to help teach that art program for 6 years. I was also involved in Boise Art Museum, Idaho Botanical Gardens, Idaho Food Bank, Festival of Trees, and Boise State University's Student Athlete Scholarship Fund.
It has been an honor and privilege to be part of the wonderful communities in the Treasure Valley. I was born and raised in Idaho and always felt the best people in the world lived here. I did not realize to the extent of how wonderful the people of Idaho are, until I joined The Junior League of Idaho. It is a phenomenal organization that has accomplished so many amazing things to help our communities.
I was so proud to be on the committee that helped create The Literacy Lab, (now called The Learning Lab), Second Time Around clothing store, The Renaissance Faire, and Community House which provided childcare for the homeless. I also worked on both of the Cookbook committees.
For 8 years prior to our children's birth, I was a Realtor. For most of my career I specialized in new construction. I was blessed to have amazingly wonderful Builders and customers, most of whom I still consider dear friends.
Returning to the work force is an exciting adventure! I am dusting off my customer service skills and learning all about this wonderful industry.
I have truly loved helping people in whatever aspect they needed. Establishing caring, trusting and fun relationships is what I am most excited about Prestige Diamonds and Jewelry.
